Anyone else experienced this, started around the hot weather so assume its heat related.

mine was fine for about a month and then went a bit crazy, think it will have to go back :(

Mines gone back for repair.   :(

Made the mistake of taking it in and out each time I wanted to transfer files onto the desktop comp, lost power to the rear cam.

When you start to transfer files ONLY remove the SD card and DO NOT keep on unplugging and reconnecting it each time like I did DOH!!!!!

Apart from that the only issue I had was a slightly off colour cast on the rear cam which seemed to be a bit ;blueish' compared to video taken on the front cam.

I removed my old camera after every journey, so would you suggest not doing that with this one??

The Backview fits behind the mirror and is virtually invisible once in place.  I have run mine for over 2 years on my Golf and 2 years before on my Octavia and I never removed it, just popped out the mem card when I wanted to view the files.

I also suggest wiring it in rather than using the ciggy socket - -many threads showing different ways of doing this - just one for ideas:

The front camera is wired in already, just need to get the rear cameras wire put into the head lining.
