Skoda Yeti 1.4 TSI to LPG

Featured Replies

Hello Friends,

I live in a country where petrol cost 1.4 Euro and gas 0.35 euro. I'm happy owner of a Skoda Fabia year 2008 with gpl and yearly I made more than 30.000 km. Weeks ago I had a good offer for a Skoda Yeti 1.4 tsi year 2010 with 58.000 km used and I buy that. Problem now is that im not sure what kind of gas impiant I should install to my new car. I have many advices from inginers and all contraverse. I want to know who is best impiant to install these kind of motors? Can this motor transform to 100% gas?

In the UK the conversion of. car like this to LPG is simply not viable. The cost simply couldn't be recouped through the savings. Therefore, a generic kit won't be made like it is for a 'gas guzzler' like a V8 Range Rover. Any conversion would be bespoke so even more expensive. Of course, incentives to convert where you live may be greater so local kits are available.

I'd be interested to know if there is such a thing as a 'Direct Injection' conversion as opposed to 'port' injection.

Any suggestions?

How about getting in touch with local LPG conversion specialists.

They will have much more information as it seems nobody here has had the conversion done.

It would also be better if you have 2 or 3 quotes from different conversion firms and see if they come up with the same answers to your questions about price and guarantees.

I had spoke with 4 different specialist near me. One say this kind of engines they cant do. Others have Landi Renzo impiants with costs from 850 to 950 euro and waranty 2-3 years. These kind of motors have direct injections and can't be convert 100% with gas. One say consum after conversion will be 25% petrol 75% gas, other from 15 to 20% petrol and difference gas. And another say 1 liter petrol for 100 km and difference gas.

I tried to read in many languages in Google but I didn't get much info I needed. I want to be sure if consume is like they say or not. For that I want to know if someone did it before.

I doubt that you are going to get much information, certainly not from the UK residents of this Forum. The use of LPG in cars here has greatly reduced in the last 10 years, especially when there was tax introduced on it's cost. At one stage Vauxhall offered LPG conversions from the factory; they dropped that a while ago. Also the number of gas filling stations has reduced correspondingly.

I think you are going to have to make your own judgement and decision, I'm afraid.

Opel list a Corsa which runs LPG......maybe others as well.

The way things are going, the Continent may be the last bastion of LPG.

I think you would be better off trading for a car made to run it instead of a complex and expensive conversion these days.
