My Fabia has had a dent in the roof just above the door since I bought it, looks like a metal tube has fell on it or something.

I'm tempted to heat it up and knock it out a little bit if it's even possible, it's pretty much where you would hold the grab handle on the inside.

If anyone has pictures to see if it's possible or if it's double skinned or blocked off being part of the A pillar maybe.

I've bought my car with about the same kind of dent, above the front right door. I don't have a better picture with more details of the dent, but you should be able to spot the issue if you click on the picture and zoom in a bit.

 

I've just called the person who did it for me back in 2013. He used a glue pulling tool. It wasn't required to (re)spray it, I think he just polished it a bit.

I hope this will help you... it looks pretty DIY.

Later edit: IMHO, the dent has been done when removing a roof rack or something like this.
