Spark plugs 1.2Tsi

Featured Replies

Euro car parts list 2 different spark plugs for my 2013 Yeti at £9 or £15, anyone tell me why and which grade in theirs?

Also they seem a little inaccessible, any hints/tips for changing? Any idea of the gap? The motor factor I usually use assured me that the last set I bought (for a Fabia) were factory set - how can that be as different engines from different manufacturers have different gaps! OR am I out of date, again?

Finally, for now, how do we get BRISKODA members' discount at Euro Car Parts? Need some Octavia discs & pads.

According to NGK site, Either plug can be used. the difference is the electrode material the cheaper one being Platinum and the dearer one is Iridium. The Iridium is harder wearing and should last longer, its just an upgrade and can also be used with LPG fuel.

 Plug gap is pre-set @ 0.8mm.

Reference No's

NGK PFSR7S8EG     1675        408441120

NGK IZFR6P7            97153      408992590

Personally I would go for the Standard NGK Platinum.

The jury is still out as to whether the iridium is better or not.

(maybe if you do long hard journeys go for the iridium)

Plugs are normally set for the correct gap @ factory.

Plugs on that engine are alright to get too. Just need a ratchet with long 3/8 SD extension with plug socket on the end.

Thanks for spark plug tech info. Any links on removing the 'tinware' partially obscuring the plugs, making them tricky to remove/refit, please?
