the locksmith has said its too hard and would break his drill so he did not want to risk it

 

as some of you have been down this road before which blank would you recommend I buy that is ok?

I had this problem, it was about £5 extra for him to supply his own so just did that in the end.

I require a brass one not steel

Get another lock Smith, blades will cut steel and brass, that's what they're designed to do.

It's quite a common problem though, like I said. My locksmith doesn't touch aftermarket blank blades either and just supply's his own.

Cost me £15 in total to get his blank key and cut to match.
