Resetting service indicator

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am well aware that the service indicators can be reset via the use of the odometer button, however......

Please can somebody advise the proceedure for reseting them (oil lub and annual) with the Vag-Com?

Thanks

Is it possible to do it with VAG-COM? Always assumed the techies did it the way us mortals did it using the odometer?

I presume you must be able to, because i thought you could only reset the service indicator if it was being displayed with the odemeter.

What happens (if like my mother) you buy a skoda fabia, which has a serviced before it is sold, half way through the cycle - at a 6000 mile point.

The garage said they reset the indicator, so:

1. The service light will come on in 4000 miles (I'm expecting this one), thus making the service indicator totally out of sink of the services.

2. It can be reset via a vag-com

How do you re-set the service indicator with the odometer button thing?

Will this work on a Superb too?

I dont have my car serviced at Skoda any more as it's out of warranty and my local garage is less than half the price! :D

For mine (fabia vrs), the service indicator has to be displayed.

To reset:

1. Hold in the odemeter button.

2. Turn on ignition to position 2 (dash lights on) with button still in.

3. Release button once service indicator light has gone.

However, as ScoobyChris will tell you, there seem to be different methods for different cars/trim levels.
