Powerbulbs do BOGOF!

Featured Replies

I see Powerbulbs are doing a Buy One Get One Free offer on Power Plus (+50%) or Power Blue bulbs (H7, H4 & H1 fittings only).

Catch is that the free one has to be the same fitting, but I guess if more than one person needed a set, you could make combined orders?

Please note that this is not Philips as originally thought, but Powerbulbs own branded bulbs. Apologies for any confusion caused.

Well, I've ordered a pair. Thanks for the pointer. There was no note in the checkout about getting a free pair, but I did follow the link from the offer, so hope they come.

If anyone wants a pair of these top notch bulbs for

Are these really Philips bulbs? The advert doesn't refer to them as Philips, only as Power Plus by Powerbulbs.

If you click on the offer on the front page, then click on your relevant bulb fitting towards the bottom of the offer page, it takes you to the relevant bulb. There are pictures of the boxes there.

Hope that helps

Just to let you know I got a pair of these packs of bulbs through within 24 hours of ordering. and a free pack of sidelight bulbs too.

Afraid my spare pair is already spoken for, but if you buy one set for

Not sure it's such a good deal. Auto express did a review of headlamp bulbs a couple of months back and powerbulbs own brand bulbs faired quite badly. The tests were carried out on a rig set up to test light output and angle etc.

From the review the bulbs to go for are here:-

Interesting that I found this info on the powerbulbs site. No mention of their own brand bulbs in the autoexpress link of course.

Didn't know they did their own brand. I've only looked at the Philips and Osram. The BOGOF offer is on the Philips bulbs, but only for certain fittings.

They aren't doing a bogof on the Philips H7 lamps unfortunately. Only bogof in this fitting is their own brand so no good for me!

Actually, Just checked the bogof link on the powerbulbs page and regardless if you click on H1, H4 or H7 the offer info only seems to cover powerbulb twin pack lamps. No mention of Philips. Am I missing something?

Its NOT philips - that was just an oversight done by tiptronic. However, I'm not too brand oriented, and if these "power bulbs" are just as good as the philips vision plus ones I have in now, then I'll be happy - Worked out about the same paid as for a standard pair, so I'm :) :) :) with that.

Oops, Sorry if I unintentionally mislead anyone.

Sounds like those that have gone for it are still chuffed though.

If the Auto Express review is anything to go by they won't be nearly as good as the vision plus. From what i remember the philips got 5 out of 5 stars whereas the power bulbs version only got 3 stars. Philips won the test and the powerbulbs lamp came about 5th or 6th I think. However, if the bogof offer had been available at the time, the powerbulb lamp would have faired a little better due to it being good value. It still doesn't compete on performance.

It will be interesting to hear what you think of them though.

The blue version that powerbulb do came out really badly in the test which covered about 20 bulbs.

Personally I'd stick with the Vision Plus or Silverstars. I ordered myself some Silverstars last week and got some free Philips Blue sidelight bulbs thrown in. Top service from Powerbulbs
