Tyre size

Featured Replies

I'm trying to find approved allow wheel and tyres size for the mk3 as it's soon time to buy winter wheels! I could not find the information in the fabia manual and want to get a complete list of e.g. ET, width, center bore as well as the actual tyre sizes.

Also, will the fabia mk2 alloy wheels be compatible with the mk3? Would be interesting in trying to pick up used wheels.

Look on the fuel filler cap, should list all the sizes the car could have

I used the "mytyres" website to check up on sizes for the latest Polo as wife's one will arrive soon - used that information to check against some other information from elsewhere and they agreed.  In my case, I found that the winter wheels(tyres) that I bought for the 2002 Polo were exactly the same "size" as needed for the latest Polo - except, the wheels were one inch bigger rims. Another thing I discovered, by using a VAG electronic catalogue was, Fabia is one size, Polo and Ibiza is another size, and Audi A1 is another size - or at least offset probably due to it having a wider body.

So, to what I based my fact finding on was, look up on-line VAG parts cat, find the details of the steel spare wheel, in my case a 15" steel spare for cars with 16" alloys, then I used these facts together with wheel details from www.mytyres.co.uk  to form what I needed for winter use.  The mytyres site listed wheel width, diameter(s), PCD, centre bore and ET.  I intend to use steel wheels in winter, always had done with my smaller cars, bigger cars normally alloy.
