Note the seat material

Agree... original press releases, web configurator, brochure, advice by Skoda employees, now these pics... none of it adds up.

Below thread taken over by this same topic:

Oh.. oOps, you're on that thread!

I've sent an enquiry to the dealer asking them to confirm the spec details as they appear to be conflicting.

Yeah, I just wanted to start this one with a link to an actual car for sale showing the interior.

I sent Skoda HQ a Tweet...

I have sent a photo to another site member showing the seat on a 190 SE L EX DSG as I am not able to load them (20 in all but mainly of the boot area).

Yes that was me - deffo Alcantara in the photos.

The dealer from the first link has responded with the following email:

Thanks for contacting us. This is our first new Superb that has landed on site. SEL Executives do come with leather as a standard feature, however ours has been built with alcantara interior, we can of course order you the specification of your choice, the vehicle is now in our showroom should you wish to view it.....................

My view is that leather is standard (as per configurator, brochure and every other source) and that these first few demo cars have simply had alcantara interior put in. Why, I don't know? Perhaps it was quicker or is there a minor supply issue on leather interior ahead of full production.

For customer orders I don't believe there is an issue and they will be supplied correctly.

My thoughts are that Skoda UK have yet to correctly put together the web configurator as has been seen several times already. The dealers are able to see the Europe wide accessories but at some silly prices which will not be available to UK buyers. I think they have a lot to do before the official launch in September.

Plus perhaps they could also stop it crashing at times.

The car is excellant make the support and staff information to it as good as the product.

I wonder if perhaps the leather and alcantara is the default and the full leather is a no cost option. I know that the literature is suggesting it's full leather as standard, but the few cars that are currently out there ALL seem to have the half and half on the SE L Executive.

Sounds like Skoda UK are aware of the issue now... here are the replies I got from their PR team via Twitter:

"Sorry for the confusion. Our team were working to correct the error when you tweeted us!"

"You can get either Alcantara or leather when the vehicle is ordered from factory. This has been updated in the latest brochure now."

Yes updated in the latest PDF. Leather Standard, Alcantara FOC!

Spot on, prefer the alcantara myself

Is Alcantara only available in black, or Beige too?

I think alcantara in beige would be a bad choice - the alcantara in mine although has stood up fairly well, it does show signs of discolour and wear on my drivers seat. It is black.

Please note of a bulletin from Skoda to its dealers. I have had to type it out as it would not copy.

Alcantara/leather upholstery is now available as a no-cost option for the Superb SE L Executive. The brochure will be updated soon to include this information and images of the upholstery.

Most Superb SE L Executive launch demonstrators and showroom orders have already been built with Alcantara/leather rather than just leather.

Do you have the new brochure pdf?

Can you post it?

Or email it to me please

Here are Danny’s photos of the seats:

Alcantara £1150 option on SE. Was standard on MK2.

I note that if you want ventilated seats then it’s leather only.

It's on the Skoda site now

I note that if you want ventilated seats then it’s leather only.

Alcantara (originally called super-suede or fake-suede) is a synthetic material that doesn't survive long if it's punched full of holes, unlike natural leather.

Hence no ventilated alcantara seats.

On the plus side, it doesn't get as hot or cold to the touch like leather so maybe ventilation is excess to requirement anyway.
