So, we just made it through one year of ownership before my GF got the idea of rubbing the mk3 against the shopping mall garage... LUCKILY she only did the passenger door handle!

So, I'm considering dismantling the door myself and get the handle loose and give it to the paint shop to reduce the cost (of before mentioned GF...she's also curbed two sets of wheels).

What do you think? Easy enough? Any obstacles? Everything inside the door needs to go except window itself?

Its an easy task!

Open the door. Pull the handle out and put a long screw driver in the hole on the door side, the handle will pop lose and wiggle it out. To get it back just give it a gently slap and the handle will click right back..
