De badge

Featured Replies

Hi guys n gals, what is best way to de badge the fabia writing on the boot so it's as clean as possible

Welcome to the forum.

Boil the kettle and pour the water over them.

You will not really then need Dental Floss or Fishing Line.  Clean off any glue or tape left on.

Polish then wax the paint.

Thankyou for fast response

Hi twincream, try not to ruin your letters when removing them as u might need to put them back on !!!!! after removing mine I found there was faint markings left behind in the laquer that I couldn't shift. ended up refitting the letters and plastidipped them black. Looks good if I don't mind saying so myself  :D

Prised them off with plastic spatula, then used white spirit on a rag to get rid of glue residue.

The 'Fabia' letters were ten years old, left faint traces of letters on paint-work, even after much cleaning/polishing.

However I have re-badged whole car with/including latest letters 'FABIA' over this same area, so not seen/noticeable.
