Stupid sidelight question.

Featured Replies

I decided it was time to change a few bits on the Fabia. Lights for one. My car has the black Pack so the headlights aint exactly great. ive ordered a set of Osram Night Breakers as ive seen a fair few good reviews on here, i also got a set of white LED Error free 501 Bulbs for the rear number plate lamps.

Upon looking around the car  tonight i noticed what i can only describe is a side light bulb in the headlight? The inner bub, mine seem to be blue in colour. Now i run my Car with the DRL's switched on. (Early VRS with a switch).

Anyway, they don't work? haha im just taking it as because the DRL are side lights that the bulbs in the headlight either are not wired up or connected? I just wanted clarification more than anything haha.

Thanks

correct, they aint connected. It's been covered quite a few times.

don;t get too excited about the nightbreakers, made stuff all difference for me, so i went HID's and never looked back

Ahh, thanks for that Lee. To much skim reading on my part.

Really? everyone seems to rave on about them. Can't be any worse than they currently are. If that is the case i'll go the HID route.

+1 HID are the way to go, especially in the black pack

Just a typo as i was mainly on about sidelights haha.  :D

Yeah the festoon type as ive fitted them.

I read that twice and knew it didn't sit right but couldn't process it, in my defence I am on nights lol

Sorry if ive read that wrong?

Youve put the blackpack lights in your VRS?

no. Somebody who I know has wired up the side lights in his vrs and I want to do mine

I had the Sidelights working in the Head Light Unit and Fog Lights fitted in the place of the DRL/Sidelight units for a while.

(Clear Headlight Units /vRS)

*Only made to function to be legal and have Sidelights, as i never drive on Sidelights and would not use it as a Parking Light to the front, and you could not see the Sidelight as lit when the Dipped Beam was on which i have on most of the time.*

I just did not want the Standard Sidelights (DRL Units) on and mistaken for driving with Fog Lights on, but wanted Fog Lights for when there was Fog & Frozen Fog.

Work done by an Auto Electrician.  Changed back to standard when the car was in a collision and new parts purchased.
