Hi and new to the forum.

 

I have a Octavia 2005.

 

I'm trying to replace a bulb!

I can unscrew the plastic nut but the locking lever will hardly budge.

 

Does it just need a bit of brute force or am I missing something?

Bit of brute force, but not too much as the plastics can become fragile as it gets older.

You might find some engine de greaser and a little paint brush just to clean around the lever might help lift any dirt and crap that's causing it to stick

have you made sure the locking tab is pressed before you pull the lever?

 

Daft question I know but I didn;t once and struggled for ages until the penny dropped!
