New Yeti - fluid leak or condensate?

Featured Replies

Second post in the forum.  Did 75 miles today in glorious sunshine and enjoyed every minute of the trip :)

After parking up on my driveway I spent a while poking around in the boot - checking the toolkit under the spare wheel etc.  Then I looked under the car to see what the Rough Road package looks like and noticed a damp patch on the driveway.  The fluid appeared to be dripping very slowly from centre are where the exhaust runs - looking from the side of the car I think the point would be level with the front door hinges.

I did not detect any fluid smell so asssume water or coolant maybe?

I'll ask the dealer but just asking here in case it an exit point for any condensate if there is such a system in the car?

I have pretty much ruled out rainwater as it has been dry since I picked it up and the car was sitting in the showroom for a day.

My second day and paranoia has set in

Aircon evaporator drain. Assuming you were using the A/C.

On mk1 Fabias it comes out just next to where the heater matrix pipes go through the firewall; low down, central-ish. Probly the same on your car.

Forgot to mention that I had the Aircon on the whole trip ;)

Aircon evaporator drain....

Most probably.

Most probably.

+1. I've not noticed it on my 2014 140 DSG 4x4 but did on my previous 2011 110 manual.

Usually when I fuelled at a service station.
