So just returned from Prague, wonderful stay, good food anyway took snaps of some skodas while there great beer and plenty to see 

 

 

I bet the Skoda "ragtop" is worth a lot of money.... It's beautiful.

It certainly is, and I think I was the only one who seemed to show interest!

The ragtop brought train of thought memories!

 

I toured Sweden with two mates in 1968 in a (then) new Octavia van, based on the same shape car as in the pic. Two things stick in my memory (about the van, that is - Sweden is another story!!  ), first the gearchange was a reverse H pattern, with first at the top right, down to second then 3rd was top left, 4th bottom left.

 

The other was the rear suspension, presumably Herald style transverse cart spring, because when it was lowered after being jacked up, the rear wheels had HUGE camber, and until it had been driven a few miles, it sat very high.

 

Ah, happy times................

There's Skoda buses (and trolley buses too, I think) in a few Eastern European countries, including Latvia.

looked a good trip alan where did you stay and who did you book your trip with

pentahotel prague brilliant hotel, same price aas the center but this had brilliant reviews and 1 mins from tram stop and 2 mins from underground , booked with jet2.com flew from Leeds /Bradford 

cool weather looked good, how long was your stay plus plenty of skodas to see

5 days, weather 35 degrees , so many Skodas , the MK3 Superb looks really great 

you should have gone to the factory and museum in mlada bolesav
