Coding headunit to car

Featured Replies

Hi can someone advise me how I go about having my head unit coded to my car. I had a bolero initially in my Octavia mk2 but had a amundsen+ installed. The clown who installed it has gone awol and just need to check that all is as it should be. A diagnostics check showed that the can did not recognise Dab telephone and blue tooth.

Thanks

You'll need to access 19: CAN Gateway and go to the installation list.

Tick 'Navigation' and 'Telephone' assuming your Amundsen actually has both built in.

I think DAB is associated with radio, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Then clear the fault codes.

If I've forgotten something I'm sure someone will correct me soon.

The amundsen+ or rns315 usually has it all built in so coding the unit to the gateway should solve your issues.

So to clarify is it just a case of accessing the can gateway and ticking all relevant boxes and saving?

tick navigation and save it then exit vcds and turn the ignition off and lock the car. Once the alarm has become active the can bus will be in sleep mode. unlock and turn on the ignition. go in to gateway and Check for incorrect coding faults and erase them. check the radio functions like MFSW and mfd compatability.

If it all works then do the same for bluetooth.

Not all Amundsen+ units have BT built in.

If there is a legitimate MAC on the label then it has.

I'm of the opinion that coding the CAN Gateway will resolve the issues.

If you are near Herefordshire I'll do it for you.

Thanks guys. I'm in Huddersfield thanks for the offer, the logistics make this difficult. Anybody near Huddersfield with Vag?

just pm me a convenient time and we'll get it sorted. It only takes a few minutes.
