Bluetooth connection to car

Featured Replies

This is the first car I have had with Bluetooth connection but I keep getting irritating pings when phone is playing music or the phone is just connected to the car. I am using an old HTC sensation xe phone with no internet connection running. Has anyone any idea how to turn the pings off

Ive noticed the same phenomenom with my Sony Xperia. It didnt occur in the late Merc. Seems like a constant bluetooth-update.

My solution is to mute the phone, a call will be announced by the car anyway.

If its two different phones then the bluetooth in car prep appears to be at fault, have you asked the dealer to '' pair '' one of their phones to it and test it out ? I have just fitted a new headunit to my wifes 2006 Mk 1 and its crystal clear, better than when usiing the phone on its own !! That needs checking out, as on a new car that is not acceptable.

Their is only one phone connected to the car the peculiar thing is even with the radio turned off and the phones Bluetooth turned on (all internet connections turned off) I still get the notification pings on the phone while in the car but not outside the car. Could be even with the radio turned off the cars Bluetooth is still turned on. Did do some research on the internet it looks as if it could be a known Android problem. Have downloaded an app called Don't Pause (turns off notifications whilst listening to music) which appears to address the problem but have not tried it yet.

I am getting a Samsung S4 mini today will see if that has the same problem. I am moving up the scale to 2013 technology one day I may be able to afford a phone that works with mirrorlink   but not holding my breath.  Joe

Hey Joe

I also have an Samsung S4 mini (GT-I9195, Android 4.4.2) and I have no trouble getting it to work with MirrorLink.  -So you're already there, no need to hold your breath at all.

May have resolved constant notification pings problem when I linked Samsung S4 mini (GT-I9195, Android 4.4.2) to bluetooth 2 tick boxes came up one asking to link to your contacts and one asking to link to your messages. You had to tick the boxes which said don't ask again then click yes or no. Joe
