New clutch really light pedal?

Featured Replies

New clutch is super light and there's no real bite. Is it just how the clutch is or does it need bleeding? ( XMAN clutch/dmf)

after fitting a new clutch it will always need bleeding i find an easy bleed that connects to the tyre valve easiest 2 min job just done mine today

Old fashion way haha, obviously not enough haha. It's just so light.

A light clutch pedal is a good sign aslong as it performs well.

Usually takes a anything upto 500 miles to bed in, mine took around 400 miles as I mainly do motorway driving.

u should feel the bite with any clutch keep bleeding m8

Got a XMan LUK kit just fitted in mine, pedal is very light.

If your clutch is working,ie allowing you to engage gears and also releasing and driving the wheels it's probably bled ok.

Took me a few attempts to get air totally out of mine though.

As in can barely feel it? Haha. I can drive it just a feels weird haha. I've bled it again this morning with ezi bleed and it's still the same.

If the biting point is OK and it's driving fine it must be OK. New clutches do tend to be light. If there was air in it it would be difficult to get it in gear or the biting point would be very near the floor.

The clutch in mine is like the throttle pedal, doesn't really have any weight to it.

Same, guess thats the way it is then. Just a massive change from the SMF and a really heavy clutch in S3.

Yeah!

By far the lightest clutch pedal of any car I've owned.

I had a Sachs SMF and race clutch before this, that was a lot heavier.
