Radio Code MS402

Featured Replies

Hi - looking for advice on locating code for a MS402 to go into a 2001 Fabia Classic with a dead MS202.

Will I be able to obtain the code just using the  serial no (SKZ2Z2Y1225685) and is it realistic to "buy" the code on Ebay - does anyone have experience of this working out ? I get the impression from google that there used to be a tool out there on the web that would derive codes from SKZxxx numbers but can't find a clean copy to play with.

thanks

Easier all round to spend 40-50 pounds/euro on a new head unit IMO. Only real reasons for running an old MS unit are someone just uses the radio to listen on AM or you're selling the car almost immediately, or you live in a really bad area and someone will simple nick something more shiny.

I only listen to the radio so I bought one of these off ebay after my MS402 decided to commit electronic suicide... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251904116720?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

...It's bloody great. Couldn't believe it for the price :D

Of course, you need a fascia adapter and a signal booster (The standard Skoda radio already has a booster built in).

Hi,

This guy on ebay is honest and will get you the correct code fast for £10, he works at a Skoda dealership. I've used him twice now.

You only need the serial number. The cheaper online tools you can get won't work with VAG stuff from the era of your radio, so don't waste money on it!

Regards,
