Boot Light

Featured Replies

On another thread, I lamented the absence of a boot light on my new acquisition vRS. You know, a man likes a grope in the dark but no tin this sense!

So after waxing the car Sunday, I found the light and pulled it out. Oddly the connector was not connected. Suspecting the previous owner had been here before, I plugged it in to see what happening. Light came on then went off. Miffed and thinking some computer trickery was at play, I put the connected light back in its place.

Now I notice this eveing when switching off the ignisiton none of the interior courtesy light (door and overhead) work. My Alfa had better electrics than this!

By the way, I may have cracked the condensation thing in a rather cunning way. However, weather conditions has provided dryer air recently so I'm holding out on my test. I need a dewpoint=ambient temperature day followed by a nice night time temp dip.

Fuse?

Could be though if the boot lamp was unplugged that might mean a larger problem. I daren't imagine what.

still got warranty?

still got warranty?

I guess the problem with that is you have to prove it's a Skoda manufacturing defect, which, from the description, it may not be if the previous owner has been "playing" :(

Yup 21 months warranty remaining. It's a non-friction part so I reckon I could definitely chance my arm :D

There are times when you shoudl really say to a poster, "get your @sre down to the local motor factors, spend a few pennies and sort it out yourself!"

New fuse holding a full load
