Been and had a root about. It seems to make this noise when in recirculation mode. Is this normal?

Hi Mike. been out today in the car. It doesn't make this noise when the engine is cold or switched off (ignition on/aircon on/ heater on all modes etc) it sounds like something going round and catching on something. Like a belt catching on a cover. A sort of scraping noise but not constantly but every second or so.I have had the engine cover off and you cannot hear it over the noise of the engine. But you can here it Inside the car. Sounds like it's coming from behind the dash.

Hello friends, I have almost same noise issue, it sound like woo woo woo woo woo every second or so. It is the same noise no matter if I'm driving or standing still, as soon as i start the car it starts wooo wooo woo-ing, it is present when car is cold and warm. Sounds like the noise is coming from the right side of the engine bay, and I cant really hear it outside of the car. Noise stays no matter if climate of or on.

My Octavia is a 1.6tdi dsg 2012.

Belt changed about 20tkm around 185000, car has now 208 000km. I Just bought the car with 205 000km with this issue. I thought this is going away after a little bit of driving but the noise stayed with me....

Can anyone give me info about this issue.

My Octavia 2.0 tri is doing the same, but  it's when I turn either heater or aircon off

Chaps - have you checked the cabin filter recently?  I had a similar rattle/clatter when the Clinatronic system on my MK2 was switched on.  Turned out to be a shed load of toot in the cabin air-filter that needed cleaning out.  Its located under a flap in the passenger footwell.
