Petrol Octavia TSi Aircon compressor change - Help!

Featured Replies

The aircon compressor on my 2008 1.8 TSi L & K has failed.

From what I have read, you need to remove the front of the car to access it, however my local garage has suggested that the bolts should be accessible without needing to do this.

Whats the verdict? front off or swap it out without needing to do that?

Can anyone give me anymore information as they don't make a Haynes manual for the petrol powered versions.

Thanks.

Anyone?

I have a 2008 cr diesel vrs, I've just changed mine by taking it out the bottom. Remove the under try, remove inter cooler pipe , undo the bolts for the pipes to the pump. These are tricky then remove the mounting bolts and take the pump out from the bottom. Then reverse to install. There's a good chance the process will have some differences for petrol.

You - its possible to remove it without taking off the front end. You need to move some of the pipes around to squeeze it out but its possible.

Replacing the condenser - now that really is front off stuff

You can get it out without dismantling the front end.
