Hi, My dad just brought an 04 superb literally today. It has a tape deck and cd auto changer but he wants to change it to a in built sat nav system that plays cds and from his iPhone etc.

Does anyone know what systems are compatible so he can still use all his steering wheels controls and bonus if can link to the aready installed cd auto changer.

Sorry if this is been asked before and got any responses.

Both Clarion and Alpine do players that work with/ have their own steering wheel controllers, but not many people still do CD changers, because you can fit more mp3 files onto one disc, than a 10 disk changer can hold in .wav files.

Take a look at the Clarion CZ703E, I will give you my impressions when mine turns up if you want.

As for SatNav, he is better off using Navi on his phone; it is free and gets regular map updates; new maps for dedicated units can easily cost in excess of £50, and OEM car kit update prices do not bear thinking about!! (Audi quoted a friend £800!!!)

There are a few cat units out there running Android, although AFAIK there are all Chinese made units. At least that way he could use Navi and not pay the p[remium every time he needed a map update, or wanted to take the car through Europe.

The same friend who got quoted £800 to update his A4 Quattro, was also quoted £80 by TomTom, just to add South African maps to his other cars Tom Tom (1941 V8 Packard), as he was going there for an extended visit and wanted to take the satnav with him.
