£1,800ONO

Light Green - Mazda Mx5 Mk2.5 (2003) 1.8 – MOT 03/03/2016

Mileage: 131,893 Miles

Considering the Age of the car it has been a very good example of an MX5, It is the sport version so has the Torsion2 Limited Slip Differential fitted as standard which makes driving in the wet controllable, the car comes with the later Bilstine shocks as standard which were updated from the early ones to make them better to drive on UK roads.

Remote Central locking, 2 Keys 1 Remote.

The Car has front fogs fitted as standard.

Leather heated seats which make all the difference in the winter.

The roof has no leaks or rips and fits pretty well, it looks like it has been replaced with a Mohair roof which is harder wearing than the old plastic ones, Glass heated rear window in the roof.

TT Looking Style bar was fitted when the car was purchased; it also has a large screen wind deflector fitted. (Note: This is not a roll bar and is not designed to protect you in any way)

Electric windows and electric mirrors both from standard.

Part Service History included with the car from previous owners, the car has been serviced with every MOT when we have owned the car. It has all be done at a friendly local garage.

CamBelt Changed at 05/11/2014 (125,390 miles) – Receipt included as proof.

Including:

  • Fan Belt

  • Alternator belt

  • CamBelt kit

  • Antifreeze

Alternator changed Dec 2013

  • Alternator had failed and was not charging the battery or powering the car, this was replaced with a new unit and has been fine since.

Exhaust Back box replaced March 2015

  • The Tail pipe had rusted through and was hanging off the bracket so we replaced the whole back box to fix.

Exhaust centre section replaced Aug 2015

  • The Centre section had rusted away from the rear flange, explored the idea of welding the pipe back on but felt it would be better to replace the section of exhaust, At the same time as changing the pipe we inspected the catylic converter which looked to have been replaced in the not too distance past

  • The Car Drives Perfect, no knocks clonks or twangs, makes all the right noises.

Bad Bits.

Given the Age of the Car there is the expected stone chips over the front bumper and bonnet.

The Boot lid has a bit of a scuff/dink almost like someone has dropped a bag on it, Its not broken the paint but is visible.

The Drivers Heated seat had stopped working, I have removed it and checked all the electronics of the seat, there is power going to it and the seat back now heats, the seat base still will not heat. It may be fixable but a replacement seat from a scrappy would be an easier fix.

There was 1 MOT advisory on the last MOT which is rust on the outer passenger side sill which is just outside the belt mounting point (pic included)

Front and rear arches are starting to show rust on the inside but has not affected the structure of the arches or car.

If I am being honest the wheels could do with a refurb to get them looking top condition.

We have been as honest with this car as possible as there are a lot of poor examples of this age of MX5, this isn’t a pristine car but has had a lot of work done on it to keep it on the road and will need a little more TLC to get it close to perfect. When under the car doing the exhaust we checked everything and it is a solid car, it would be a shame to let the spot of rust on the sill ruin the car as the rest of the car is so solid.
