it is off to Sweden to do something with a Volvo 850 T5R engine..

I watched the first ten minutes of one program and thought it was looking to be boring.

 

I gave it another watch and saw the dune buggy / off roader being built. I missed the test drive at the end as I fell asleep :zzz: . No reflection on the program though as it turned out to be pretty interesting.

 

The next one I watched was a build of a jet powered speedboat, built using a Rolls Royce engine from a jet plane, and tested on the Loch Ness.

Again, pretty good watch so series linked now.

It's not a bad show, although I lost count of the times he said "extreme engineering" in one program. Health and safety also seems a bit relaxed.

The world would be a much more interesting place without most of the H & S bullcrap we have to deal with nowadays.

 

Agreed some is necessary, but most could be achieved with a little common sense.

But Common sense and self awareness / responsibility dont apply in the real world... so must be mitigated completely at all times...

They all seem pretty crap so far. Take an engine from X, put it in Y.

Filmed like a food programme with Nigel Slater or Nigella Lawson, stare at his Eyes, Cleavage with a shaky camera.

Walking around him, annoying music and waffle.

But it is what it is. He meets talented people that know what they are doing and do almost all the work.

Same in each programme.
