60 plate Octavia - front lights

Featured Replies

Hi guys don't venture much in to these side of the forums often, and I need a question answering please.  A friend of the family has a 60 plate Octavia and was wondering about the DRL's (if it has DRL's) as he can't find anywhere to switch them on.  I said what about near the fuse board as in my car (Fabia) I've got a switch to switch them on/off) but he doesn't have that.  So I wondered if they were Cornering lights next to the fog lights.  Any help would be appreciated.

Not the actual car but it has the same lights

The outer bulb in the fog light housing is the DRL. The inner being the fog light.

The actual fog light becomes the cornering light when activated.

If you have maxidot then check this first as they maybe enabled but switched off.

I believe they both need to be activated via VCDS. You can check the members map (http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/224376-vcds-owners-map/#entry2638596 )for someone local or visit dealer or specialist to activate them.

See this very recent thread: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/371190-daylight-running-lights-on-a-59-plate-skoda-octavia-lk-face-lift/

Might be worth waiting to see if the original poster has tried out the suggestion I made yesterday.

The DRL's are small round lights to the outside of the fog lamps and as shown in the manual.

Here is a link to the driver manuals which includes manuals for 2009 and 2010 cars.

In both cases the DRL's are mentioned, but I understand they were not activated in software on UK cars, hence why I had to do it myself on my 2012 car with Carista [ http://www.caristaapp.com/ ]
