VCDS

Featured Replies

Hi guys

So I bought this cable and it came today:

http://www.amazon.com/VAG-COM-409-1-Cable-Scanner-Volkswagen/dp/B00CAKFAR6/ref=sr_1_8?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1442333403&sr=1-8&keywords=KKL+VAG-COM+for+409.1

I was wondering if anyone has used this before and could give me any information in getting it up and running. I just bought it to read fault codes on my 2004 Fabia. I had hoped to reset warning lights for a couple of friends one of which is a Mk6 Golf but I read somewhere that with this cable that is not possible? If anyone has any more information I'd be very grateful.

Many Thanks

Jim

This is a KKL cable which only works with VCDS lite. VCDS lite demo is a free download from Ross tech which is perfect for logging however you cannot do the full system scans unless you buy the license for £60 (still worth it).

You need VCDS for the later cars. I paid £260.

Hi mate

Thanks for this information. If I do buy the license can I reset warning lights on older cars or is it just a scan?

Thanks

You can do everything. Full scan, reset, coding. Nothing you can't do.

Ok that's great thanks

There is useful advice in the first customer review for that product on how to set the cable up.

Sorry I never ever thought about that! Thanks
