Fob syncing problem

Featured Replies

Hi, I have had a new key cut and coded to immobiliser today and asked them to get both the old & new key synced for the remote locking (old key didn't work when I bought car last week) The auto locksmith synced the new key to immobiliser but neither key would connect for the remote locking. He tried the manual way and also with the fancy computer thingy.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can get them working?

Thanks in advance.

Only problem I know syncing is if the "alarm" fuse (fuse 60) has been pulled or has blown. I deliberately pulled mine after a spate of middle-of-the-night alarms. then found I couldn't add a new key fob until I replaced the fuse.

I've checked the fuse and it looks absolutely fine.

I've been told it could be the central locking module. Does anyone know anything about them?

Thanks

Could be that the central electronic module has had too many keys paired to it & it won't accept any more. There is a way of deleting old unused keys & accepting just the new ones but that requires VCDS

Thanks fabdavrav. I'll give it a try, I assume it needs to be connected to one to find out anyway. What is the limiting number?

Don't know, best re-posting this problem in the VCDS section here:-
