So I've brought a w8 light out of a passat which as already been painted black and comes with the wire.

I just wondered if anybody else as fitted one and where the live is on the headlight switch

Size wise I mean or does the headlining need trimming

It's all fitted and working properly BUT you can't have the sunglasses holder in as the arm hits the light unit inside the headlining

i really like the glasses holder too but to be honest they was damaging my glasses too making the arms bent.... Lol

I only found out about the superb one after I brought this one haha..

I like the red LEDs

Always liked this light unit with the ambient LED's, I believe it was fitted in high spec Mk5 Golf's as well, very nice!

I would have drilled some LEDs to the Fabia one. Don't think it would be too much work and still look OEM.

Yes pics would be nice if its possible can you get a picture of how the holder is catching

I am guessing the light is straight forward enough to remove

Re ambient lighting. There is no ignition switched feed available in the stock wiring there, only 12v, gnd, and a second gnd switched by the doors. There may be a feed in the alarm sensors that could be used, ie ambient lights run if alarm not active.
