Fabia vRS Fourthwax Thursday!

Featured Replies

Hi guys, had this afternoon spare and the Fabia was looking abit untidy due to milage this week. Here's what happened...

Wheels - KKD Brakeaway, various brushes & dooka wheel mitt. Wheel arches with GtechniQ W5 APC & rinsed.

Car foamed with Bilt Hamber Auto foam - badges, door shuts, around windows & trim agitated with Valet Pro Detailing brush. Left to dwell for 10 minutes then pressure rinsed.

Washed with Optimum Polymer Shampoo & Dooka pad - Testing the shampoo, very very slick on the paint, foams and lathers up well. All in all a very good shampoo! - Pressure rinsed.

Whole car air dried with pet dryer, last little bits with Auto Finesse Aqua Deluxe Towel (Highly recommend)

Car pro Eraser to prepare for the wax. Fourthwax goes on extremely well, little goes along way & made very easy with the Handi Puk from Auto Perfection. Did 2 panels at a time, left for 5-10 minutes & buffed off. Found it a little grabby In places but has left a lovely finish. For £27-99 on release it's very good value for money.

Door shuts, exhausts, wheels finished with Sonax BSD. Tyres finished in Meguires Endurance. Trim finished in KKD Trim-X.

I will be purchasing a full 200ml of fourthwax when released. Smells lovely too!

Thanks for reading! 5a61ecf353f9db144285680eadb735ef.jpgd5a77581c289e95a8e517132c6483cd4.jpgd037d2331de9ef28b6f646bff13ed9d3.jpg8434eb3d586bc8a23f179a0d8ae81edb.jpgdf363806cc4219074179085dec92d882.jpgcd7b8484903a912f4f7d826e2f7d62ba.jpgce3e9f8b75c903a84252a812e4624947.jpg22e643e554db2564afacde8cc47e294a.jpg

I had a bad one to begin with, had to have a new engine and then loads of threads came up about the gearbox etc. I just panicked and got rid!

Wish i would of stuck with it now, such a great car, would have one again no doubt.

It uses abit of oil etc does mine but Skoda know about that. Apart from that the cars been absolutely brilliant, apart from it running abit lumpy due to a vacum hose loose. All sorted and she's like new!

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts Karl. The Fabia is looking great pal. It's a credit to you. And you have a nice collection of products there mate.

Keep the reviews coming. You'll have more waxes than I've had hot dinners if you carry on though! :D

Haha thanks Hunty!

Slowly building a nice collection. Just love trying out new stuff and working on the car, find it therapeutic believe it or not. The missus thinks I'm mad lol!

The car is looking stunning as always Karl - has to be one of the best in the country.

Nice review and good to have you active on the forum.

Fourthwax performed well on the Seat Exeo during my test - and the car got lots of positive comments thereafter.

Glad you like the OPT shampoo sample; very under-rated product indeed.

Hope to catch you over the weekend at some point.

I'm keeping a close eye on the used car market for one at the moment. Won't be buying one til next year, but if a bargain comes up and it has the newer engine code that does drink as much oil, I will be in there!

Thanks Ste. It's a very good wax, I might have left it to cure on the bonnet to long as that's where it was quite grabby.

Thanks for the sample, it's a really good shampoo. The slickness is one of the best I've used along with Definitive shampoo.

The seat looks great. Yeah ill be around somewhere no doubt. Probably down the pub... haha!

There's quite a few nice ones knocking about on the market at the moment. Prices seem to falling on the newer models pretty fast.

You won't be disappointed mate!

People that meet my wife for the first time say "Is it your husband that's always cleanng his car?" I only wash them once a week but I have quite a reputation!! I don't even think I'm that bad! Very theraputic indeed buddy. And if you sell privately when it comes time for a change, they don't take long to sell if they look and drive well!

My neighbors are always making sarcastic comments when I'm out cleaning that car.. I tend to just laugh it out, gets annoying after 4 years of the same comments haha.

I don't mind either. Plus, I get all the village gossip! If I had a penny for everytime I've heard "You missed a bit" or "Is mine next?"

Yeah, prices are going down pretty rapidly. I'll try and grab one next year for about 7K. Fingers crossed.
