Boot opened by itself

Featured Replies

Hiya

Came back to the car which had been parked overnight to find the boot wide open, and now the lock mechanism won't hold the door in place.

Any ideas welcome...

Thanks

I do believe someone on here had that problem with a broken lock and managed to replace a cam of some sort in the lock for a few pounds.
If the lock won't hold make sure the loop that the lock engages with is secure and in the right place, then sounds like you need to remove the lock from the door to check what's gone wrong.

That was me. The 'screw linear actuator' that pops the latch open is plastic and had sheared. I sourced and replaced it myself relatively easily. I'm on my phone right now but I can post a link to the thread later, unless you find it before.

Thanks, both. The rear wiper is out too. Will have a look at the links.
