Hi guys,

My cars currently got a boost leak, its boostig around 30psi when it normally boosts around 25/26 psi

But I've also noticed when stationary and I rev it it goes to -1/2 on the boost gauge.

Any ideas.

Had a quick poke under the car today and noticed a bit of oil on the silicone elbow that come out of the turbo. I took it off and found this

Not sure if it gone right through but the outer and inner layers are damaged from the clamp being over tightend. What do you guys think. Likely suspect?

Heres a video of it at idle and revving a bit, it goes to 0 when setting off and starts registering positive boost at about 12/1300 rpm

run a log with vagcom or check the whole system by pressure leaking it

 

your boost gauge is in-correct type for a diesel you have a petrol gauge fitted the reason you seeing a slight negative pressure is you are reving the car which is then drawing air from the inlet but your turbo isn't creating any boost thus getting a slight vacuum created in the inlet system

rev the engine to 2000rpm and you should see a slight + pressure around 2-5psi

Thanks for the advice. I've been running the gauge for quite a few months and I've never seen minus below. Maybe I've never noticed it. I have vagcom lite is that option available on that version.
