Warranty work

Featured Replies

I've never owned a car new enough to have original warranty so please I would be happy with any help.I recently ran the Illness,2013 Fabia vRs, through a car wash and was surprised to see water dripping from the top frame of a rear door. I know the door was closed and the window up as I'm ocd about checking these issues due to a previous car....I'm also pretty sure that door deals are a warranty issue. I have phoned the local Skoda garage and they've done all the " have to have car in ...water test...if not warranty we charge for the time" How do I go about making sure that I'm not fobbed off ???? Would it be wise to write a letter covering my concerns and ask for written report after so there no area for misinterpretation? I have Informed them that I would like to be involved in the water test "just in case" which went down like a lead ballon.Im sure there's an etiquette to these matters if so what may that be please?

If you have manual winder rear windows they drop just a fraction and water starts to get in,

this is common on the vRS. (seems more common on the near side.)

Use a Rubber restorer on the seals as well. Be sure the top seal is in position correctly.

The top of the door seal have been known to get lent on and out of shape.

Why not do your own water test first.

Get in the car and have someone hose it, or put paper inside and hose it and be sure there is a leak.

Yes test it yourself first. Repeatability is always the key to getting stuff fixed under warranty.
