Motor Insurers now using delaying a claim clauses

Had my renewal through and shopping around a number now have clauses about delaying a claim and making them aware of a claim.

Mostly you'll lose any rights to a hire car from what I can tell and any other related benefits when making a claim.

Seems to be clarifying terms and conditions about reporting any claim within 24 hours in the case of my current insurer.

Is this just a case of bringing motor insurance in line with longstanding home insurance terms and conditions?
