Oil leak :(

Featured Replies

Looks to be coming from oil filter housing area. It's not the turbo feed or oil pressure sensor. Any ideas?

Not leaking from the top of the filter housing itself? There a o-ring that needs to be replaced each service but not everyone replaces them.

Other than that put a picture up and see if I can work it out.

It seems to have stopped now. Can you think of anything that hard driving could cause an oil leak/dip? It runs from wherever its leaking from to the bottem of sump.

Wash it off with brake cleaner, let it dry.

Start it up and let it idle and see where it comes from.

looking at that it could be...

- oil cooler

- oil cooler o-ring

- oil pressure switch

- oil feed pipe to turbo

- oil filter o-ring

- oil filter housing gasket

- sump gasket

All at the front around that area.

Picture from above is better.

Can't see anything from above I've ran my finger under turbo feed pipe and oil pressure switch. Could knocking sump on a speed bump etc disturb the sump gasket? Thanks

I wouldn't have thought so, any impact would just smash it really. Wouldn't have damaged the gasket that way anyhow.

hard driving will show up a leak,as the oil is thinner when hot.

try tightening up the big plastic nut in your pic on the bottom of the modine
