Low oil prices here to stay

Featured Replies

For an academic to make the above statement it's probably worth a read

'The Conversation' has such an article today, headed

"Low oil prices are here to stay as the U.S. shale oil revolution goes global"

Some may be interested to know about such a statement.

If an American Plane takes down a Russian Plane or ISIS takes control or destroys a few Pipelines and Refineries we will see just how low Oil & Gas Prices stay.

Lets see how much oil gets moved to the West by sea and across the Regions that Putin has control over.

As to North America and the Shale Oil & Gas Revolution and Canada's  Oil Sands extraction, they are spending more getting the Oil out than it is worth, that is money they borrowed and they can not pay back.

Plus they have Surpluses and no Customers for it, and lack the means to Safely Transport across the US.

Moving OIl and Liquid Gas by trains and pipeline not upgraded or capable of moving the quantities involved.

The US still need Imports and lets see how that goes if they end up at war with Russia.

OPEC Oil Producing Countries are hurting now as they drove down the price, and even they can not afford to wipe put more than half their income in the long term.

It'll creep back up.

I've read that the Yanks have started scaling back on some of their shale extraction.

However I think the nudge has happened and we're actually starting the path away from big oil.

Seeing a lot more electric vehicles on the roads now.

The shale oil and deep offshore rigs production costs are causing the mothballing of some infrastructure but it remains as an underpin future pricing.

It seems CSG and fracking know no boundaries and energy has never been so plentiful for a long time.

It does have Boundaries,

they were Poland and near neighbouring countries that said no to Fracking,

but then Putin Invaded the Crimea and took over parts of the Ukraine and the

United States of America had to move a few thousand Military into several Bordering Countries and secure the Air Strips,

To bring in Military Equipment, to Train and Observe, (& also bring in lots of US Pumps, and Rigs and Fracking Equipment.)

and then Fracking becomes more acceptable to those that need the Super Powers protection.

Scottish Based and owned companies still make plenty of money from Fracking Equipment being used around the world.

Brent crude up 2.6% today.

The price of Oil on the World Markets will be worth watching.

Sadly many more job cut announcements in the North Sea oil & gas support companies this week,

& a Union talking strike ballots when the Major Oil companies really need given no excuse to cut investment in the sector.

The problem is that the large oil companies just look at the bottom line. When the oil price drops their profits drop with it, so the domino effect takes over and costs are trimmed to match income.

Exactly.

But the UK being an Island Nation it needs to be ready for Importation of Oil, Gas and Electricity becoming an issue if Putin cuts off or reduces supplies that move north through the Balkans and West through the Ukraine.

It is a shame that Great Britain no longer Rules the Waves, or even controls it's own air space.

Energy and fossil fuels need transported.

Supply and demand will dictate, and easy of supply.

What is obvious is how OPEC have had the worlds customers being ripped off up to now.

More British Troops being Deployed to Western & Southern European Countries and the Ukraine as part of NATO.

Got to love Michael Fallon MP, a man for all Government posts, Jack of all trades, Master of none.

The Norwegians invested wisely.

They didn't fall for the Raygun/Thatcher spin.

Aren't there some large pipelines going though that border area of Turkey/Syria/Iraq where the Russians are being naughty?

Bit of risky flying around the pipes, make the investors nervous, up goes the price, wee bump the Ru economy....just thinking

Shouldn't this be in Roadside Hotel with all the other political ranting and argument. :dull:

Maybe, but it is here now, until maybe moved.

Seems very harsh on Bates Motel, surely there is a half-empty skip about?

It is horrible that so many need to die to have Saudi Arabia feeling the pinch with the Low Oil prices,

but that is what is happening.

We will see how long OPEC can keep up driving the low prices of Oil and Refined Oil.
