Rotten tail pipe.

Featured Replies

Well just looked round the 1.2tsi monte today checking for mot next week and surprised to see the tail pipe on exhaust is pretty much fecked. Very disappointed considering the car is only 4 yrs old and 32k on the clock. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement as I so far have only been able to source one from the stealer at the cost of 130 notes plus vat.

Bump

Have you asked the price at a Tyre & Exhaust Centre for one they can supply,

or at

Maybe someone that has fitted an After Market part will be along to assist you.

Euro Car Parts are really helpful and usually reasonable prices.

Rear exhaust silencers often rust out if you regularly do short journeys as water ( a product of combustion ) remains in them rather than evaporating with the heat.

4 years is fair wear and similar in ALL makes at only 32,000 miles.

As a comparison, my son's 149,000 mile 56reg Fabia did not have any exhaust parts replaced because he didn't do many short runs.

I've got a vrs exhaust for sale ;). good shiny condition.

Turns out the exhaust has a heat shield round it and thats what rusting away, the end pipe is no blowing out so hopefully it will pass mot. Would the vrs tail-pipe fit the 1.2 tsi monte?

I'm guessing so (M.Carlo one) just needs cutting at the right place and vrs exhasut welding and hanging :) currently got someone else interested but will let you know if that falls through. :)
