New Rapid seat covers?

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I'm very new to RWD Skodas after many years in Volkwagens.

I'm trying to find out if replacement seat covers are available for my 1988 Rapid 136 as the original ones are trashed.

Can anyone help with this?

Cheers, Chris.

No they aren't unless you can find a set of new old stock which is unlikely these days (but not impossible). I assume yours are the black and white stripped variety? They didn't last very well....the earlier black (all went purple) type lasted better. The only real solution is buying a set of the black (now purple!) seats from someone or paying to have yours recovered with a decent modern fabric. I recently looked into this and was quoted £400. The seats are quite easy to dismantle, I recently took a set to bits and cleaned the covers.

This isn't really the best place for old Skoda stuff.....seek out the Skoda OC site of Facebook and you'll find a lot more people and seats!

Hello there,

Thanks for the reply! Yes, they're the black & white striped type, they're structurally sound, but the b&w material has disintegrated!

I'll try a local trimmer, but I was hopeful that someone might import bits for the rear engined cars, but I suppose they're fairly rare, so not much demand.

I'll (reluctantly) check out Faceache as well.

Cheers for your help!

Chris.

People do import stuff for them but most trim items are not available except 2nd hand. Skopart.de is worth checking out, he stocks lots of stuff, speaks English and posts to the UK. Still not much trim stuff though.

5% discount too from skopart.de if you're a Skoda Owners' Club member. :)
