Hi all, I own a 54plate vrs which takes time to start on a cold morning.

I have noticed the glow plug light takes atleast 5mins to come on,once it appears it then goes out as it should which then allows the car to start.

The car runs as it should throughout the day once warm but it's just the cold starts which causes the glow plug light to take time to come on.

I had been advised to change a relay (109) which should sort out the problem.

Any solutions?? Much appreciated

Have you tried changing the glow plugs as well? cheap and a five min job

I didn't think the PD engines had a 109 relay. The glow plug light should come on as soon as you turn the key.

It's number 15 on the diagram for the fuses, I went down to skoda to ask about the relay.

I was going to change the glow plugs but my local mechanics insist it's and electrical problem not the glow plugs.

The glow plug light doubles as the "somethings gone wrong" light, normally electrical. Get the car scanned for fault codes.

Only fault code that comes up is the EGR valve, the last owner had taken off the EML because of the stage 1 revo remap But yh the only fault it shows is the EGR valve.
