Would Ampere mirroring device work with Bolero ?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if the Ampere Mirrorlink device would work with the Bolero?

Hey Pjm57, what do you mean by Ampere ? I have tried to connect an Lg4 and a Nexus 5 via Mirrorlink with no success, Android auto worked... I think it is more reliable than Mirrorlink.

It is a hardware unit that links to the infotainment unit and then to the smartphone via wifi and offers a 'mirrorlink' type of connection that will work with android and iOS based smartphones. Navitech do a similar device. It appears in another name on eBay but they will not ship to UK.

Mirrolink connection is invoked by connecting the phone directly to the Bolero via the usb cable, soI the Ampere is not needed...

The Mirrorlink fitted to Skodas work through the USB cable if you have a rare Android phone that is actually compatible, the Ampere or the other myriad of names works via WiFi in very much the same way as a Google Chromcast works on an HD tv. The unit plugs into the head unit then the phone connects to it via WiFi and shows up on the screen in the car mirroring what's on the phone's screen, pretty simple really, not sure how reliable or easy to fit they are though.
