Oil temperature sender and threaded sump nut

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I'm hoping someone can point me in the direction of a oil temperature sender and a threaded sump plug it screws into.

I have no idea what size thread is needed for the sump and sender.

Cheers guys.

If it makes any difference my gauges are the 52mm evo LCD range.

Here's the sump plug adaptor you should buy...

Don't be tempted to buy a cheap one off eBay. I did and the damn thing broke off when I was trying to tighten it up. If you do, make sure it's made of steel.

As for the sender, you should have had it in with your EVO gauge to be honest. I have a 60mm EVO one and had the relevant sender. I know Kev has those 52mm ones and the senders were in the box...

Thanks for that Alex. I got the gauges second hand. It does come with a sender but I'm not sure if it's a temperature one or a pressure one. Plus the threads tapered so it could be a universal one.

I've just seen this one

Could you ask your mate to pop on here and see if that's the right one.

Lma do a good range of sump plug adapters its what I used as I was recommended by others

If you are putting the oil temp sender in the sump just bare in mind you will get lower readings due to the airflow going over the sump. Mine reads about 10 degrees lower than in stick position.

No problem. Yeah that's the one that you'd need for your gauges   That's the correct thread for the sump plug adaptor that I posted up too. Although it's a taper thread, I'd realistically be putting some PTFE tape on too like I have just to make sure.

but I'm not sure if it's a temperature one or a pressure one.

Pressure sensor would have a hole in it for the pressure to go in and a temp sensor wouldn't.

Cheers for that Alex, I'll order that sender up. Need to get it done for snetterton lol.
