Replacing the vRS gear stick/knob

Featured Replies

Hi all, does anyone know how to replace the gear stick in the Fabia vRS? I want to replace it with a universal one off eBay but I'm not sure how to remove the standard one, anyone got any idea how I go about this?

The leather gator bit just prises up and lifts up.

There's a metal clamp bit crimped around the handle part, open that up and it should twist and pull up really.

Pretty sure there's a video on YouTube of how to do this for a golf, which I think is pretty much the same, watched it the other day.

Edit. Found

P.s if the insert is any cop I may be interested in it! Lol

If you haven't managed to do it yet then it may not twist as posted above due to the keyway in the shaft... I got mine off by just giving it a good tug upwards... just don't have your face above the kn0b while doing this! black eyes are a pain to explain to managers, wife etc ;)

then replace that metal clip with a jubilee and you should be good to go.
