Hood dampers, left AND right side. (RS, 2006)

Featured Replies

Hi there!

At Superskoda they only sell the "left side version" and I asked them about the right side and they wrote that they didn't offer the right side any more and/or couldn't do it either.

So I was thinking... Can't you just buy two of the same side and just turn one piece 180° degrees and voilà, you've got yourself a right side version?

Or...

If I just could get them to help me order it at a Czech site which offer the right side version and bundle it up with the left side version from their stock and send it to Sweden?

Or...

If any kind... very kind person here (@ BriSkoda) could help me with (speaking Czech) and order both sides from this site and send it to me? Because I'm guessing they don't ship outside their own country.

I don't know what to do.

I tried looking at ebay but that's a bit confusing to me and I couldn't figure out if any parts suited my model.

I hope any of you understood my writing and could help shed some light on the matter.

Regards

Andreas

Damper on the left side only is more than sufficient to keep the bonnet up. It is sturdy and safe (mine was). A double damper only makes it heavier to close, and will possibly slam to bonnet open towards the end. The damper will also restrict the access from the side.

So why bother? How often do you open it? Just for appearance? If you have a show car and are aiming for prices, I am sure that you will need a 100% similar, but mirrored version.

Must admit the few times I open the bonnet I do miss having a damper that the previous car had. I suppose it's only a matter of time before my brain registers that the bonnet won't support it self and needs propping up.

Thank you for your comment.

I only needed to read from some one else that I don't need double dampers. :)
