As per title getting some crunch / difficulty getting into 2nd gear esp wen çar is cold!

I wacked in some fuchs sinto fluid 75-80w last year... Only been noticing this problem in last few weeks! The fluid ain't been in there that long covered 10k in the year if that

I'm getting my SMF fitted next week. Other than a suspected synchro issue anyone got any other ideas I can exhaust?

Try bleeding the clutch before it goes for flywheel to be fitted.

Just second gear is bad,or are they all a bit dodgy?

If bleeding the clutch doesn't sort it you best get a second hand box ready for when flywheel is fitted.

Presume your having a new clutch with the flywheel?

Yes bro, flywheel and clutch (SMF) to be fitted... Funny thing is that it seems to be 2nd and sometimes 3rd gear but is when the car is cold... Once hot it goes..

Is there anyguide on bleeding or clutch adjustment that I could try whilst the flywheel n clutch are being fitted

Also I have noticed the dmf knocking about alot more can this cause difficulty in engaging gears or be a contributing factor?

Try pumping the clutch pedal up and down a few times fast before trying to select second gear,if it improves the gear selection you have got some air in the clutch hydraulic system.

If this is the case I wouldn't mess about trying to bleed it,as your new clutch kit should have a new concentric slave cylinder it will be bled up when that's fitted.

Bleeding it can be a pain,and is best left to the garage doing clutch if you've never bled one before.

If your confident enough you just need a one man brake bleeding kit for a few £££,and someone to pump pedal for you.

The bleed nipple is on the concentric slave cylinder below your battery,near starter motor.

Make sure your brake fluid reservoir is kept topped up as you bleed it as this is where your clutch fluid is fed from.

Cheers bro, il give the pump action on the gears a go

I got a mobile mechanic doing the job outside my house, I bought a new concentric slave cylinder to be fitted with the job, so hopefully once all fitted it should be sorted

Il do a sort of before and after test with both the current DMF and SMF to see how gears engage wtx... that's gonna be fitted Wednesday
