Bluetooth upgrade 2008 vw

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Sorry for posting this in Briskoda rather than a vw forum, but having spent a lot of time here during my Skoda ownership, I am confident I will get an informed reply!

Just about to (finally) get my passat cc v6. The car I'm likely to get has the RNS510 nav unit, but no Bluetooth. I don't want to spend vw prices for the module and bits, so was hoping someone could advise as to what I need to get to sort this out!

It's a late 2008 model and I'd like to get an oem look so that I can use the head unit and steering wheel controls rather than having a separate parrot kit. I need something that will work with an iPhone 6 running latest iOS...

Thanks for the help!

What do you want to achieve, for example does it need to support A2DP (BT Audio streaming) or do you just want it for calls.

Hi mannyo, I just want it for calls. I'd like to replicate the set up I had in my 2012 Superb Elegance whereby I can use the screen and the steering wheel controls for calls. Not interested in streaming.

Thanks

Do you know if it has a red or white maxidot type display?

I ended up not seeing the exact car today (bad experience at Halfords getting an MoT which culminating in them doing something to the car that resulted in my never-broken-down-always-reliable Subaru showing an ecu error and misfiring!), however I viewed another one of the same age and reg today which had a white maxi dot, so the other on is likely to have the same...

In which case you have lots of choice. So for £150 or so you can get a premium 3c8 035 730e module and loom/mic which will work with all phones and integrate with the white dot, wheel and rns510, but also offer text readout etc for some phones. Search the part number on ebay.

It is slightly cheaper for 5k0 035 730 d or above or 7p6 035 730 j or above modules and these also do all you want and integrate too but will still be £100 with a loom and mic at best I would say.

Plenty of guides on here for fitting it, and it's easy.

Great, thanks for that. Will I need vcds to get it all working, or just plug n play?

Thanks again

It probably does need coding to tweak settings but it usually works out of box as it were.
