What is the Arkamys Surround Sound Package?

Featured Replies

Sorry if this has been asked and answered. I had a look around on the forum but couldn't find an answer.

Just got my wife an SE Estate and was going through the features and saw that it comes with an Arkamys Surround Sound Package. The thing is I have no idea what it does.

Can anyone enlighten me?

It's basically a built in surround sound system that is set up and optimised to the Fabia's interior. It also has a digital subwoofer which boosts the bass to give a clearer more powerful sound to whatever is being played through the car's speakers.

It only works on the USB and Bluetooth connection as well as music you might have stored on an SD card, the slot for this is in the top right hand upper corner of the glovebox.

It doesn't work with radio channels as it needs a constant input signal which radio signals aren't due to reception.

Just switch it on, it does make a difference to the sound and is impressive when you hear it.

Hope this helps [emoji3]

Yeah it should do, I stream my music from my phone via Bluetooth and it works a treat, it'll be even better with Android Auto as it's physically connected via the data cable meaning the input signal will be stable.

Was this an optional extra? Cant say ive even heard of it before.. :D.

Could only work even more wonders once the speakers are upgraded. N that makes a massive difference without this.

The Arkamys Surround package is standard on the SE and above, it is in the UK anyway, the sound is impressive considering it's only a circa £15k car, it sounds better than my mate's BMW M Sport spec 116d.

What year did that come in? Pretty sure my march 2013 SE doesnt have it?

Ah you should see the speakers that come out of the fabia though. Theyre the cheapest plastic things ive ever seen lol.

Have it activated on my SE L Hatch, along with the virtual subwoofer. Playing tracks loaded onto an SD card it is really very impressive as a standard fit bit of kit, in a car of this class. At least as good as the system on my old Volvo S60. Yet another example of how things change and, generally, improve over time.

It's only available on the MkIII, it was never available on the MkII, it definately wasn't available on my Monte Tech.
