Saying good bye the fabia

Featured Replies

What are you getting to replace it?

Mrs Baxlin went from a 1.2 3 cyl Fabia hatch to a 1.6 diesel Estate, which although essentially the same car to drive, are worlds apart in many other respects, especially load carrying. (and the diesel has better fuel consumption!)

We have decided to go for a bigger car which will last is quite a while.

We have gone for a '60' plate mondeo titanium x. It's a lot bigger than the fabia but at least we know we can get everything in. We went for the 2.0 petrol version as we will only be doing 3-4k a year in it so diesel wouldn't be cost effective for us.

I will be sad to part with the fabia but running a car like that out of warranty is risky and one that I haven't got the guts or deep pockets to do.

I spoke to the garage today and they are going to put the car up on their forecourt.

The dealer is Evan halshaw Kettering. Sad to see her go but on wards and upwards.

Shame about the furby like you say onwards, before it went in to the garage did you take anything off to put in the for sale section?

He should have a jetex panel filter up for sale!

I took a few parts of incl the panel filter and have sold them to a friend who bought the lot. Only thing garage insisted stayed on were the mudflaps

Here is a couple of pics of the new mondeo. Certainly not going ot struggle for space.

'Monty' as it has now been nicknamed is the 2.0l petrol which has 145bhp. we decided against diesel as we only do 4 - 5k a year and wouldn't be very cost effective for us.

Came with front and rear parking sensors, climate control, cruise control, phone, 6 cd changer.

As I previously said, the dealer have put the car up for sale on their website. If anyone is interested and wants any more info, do not hesitate to ask.
