Roofbox query

Featured Replies

Well, expanding family means I need to enter the world of roofbox ownership.

I have read a lot of very useful threads and request a bit of advice/experience.

The correct footpack for the Octavia 2 appears to be Thule 757 (was 755) of which there seem to be many available. The good news is that these are also the correct fitment for my jeep (shogun).

Square bars are cheaper, wing bars are better looking and probably quieter and have less drag, they are both quite easy to source. My first query, correct fitment for octavia is 120cm, and for shogun 127 cm. Will I be okay with the 127cm on the octavia? I suspect the 120cm won't fit the jeep.

Roofboxes. I have seen a few nice Thule Atlantis 200 available secondhand. I am assuming that opening both sides will be handy, and it is a case of checking latches and locks are all in good working order. Would this be a good enough choice? There are loads of roofboxes available, am I better to get a Thule roofbox to suit the footpack and rails?? many thanks.

Yes, thanks, looks great. I think the 961 are the 127cm wing bars, so take it they don't stick out too much at the sides?? The box is probably bigger than I need but will keep it in mind thanks.

Correction. 961 are 118cm, I am considering 969.

The width is OK for me, I also had a couple of the Thule 591 ProRide bike carriers. The extra width allows a good degree of seperation between the bikes.
