I have fabia vrs 56plate I'm after tyres and I'm looking at Michelin cross climate but however they don't do the recommended size of either the 205/45 r16 or the 195/50 r15

I emailed a popular online tyre website who came back with an alternative size 185/65 r15 (v).

Will these fit ?

Sorry hello members final signed up.since owning vrs this forum of expertise have been very helpful.

I don't have a clue about ofsets etc, so just make sure the match on both, so only tyre size is different.

No it won't say it won't fit but simply how different it will be to your current set up and affect on Speedo etc.

I'm sure most will simply ask why don't you just get the right size tyres instead of restricting yourself to those though.

Ok see your point just those tyres come very well recommended. Read so many reviews on tyres over past week and thought I'd nailed it with cross climates until I found out they don't do fabia sizes. Doh ...

Any other tyre recommendations would be grateful. Would prefer an all rounder as my wife's job is home career out in the community.

I've always found that tyre preference is unique to each individual - although there's usually a consensus on preferred tyres.

I recently popped 4 Pirelli Nero GT'S on.. Lots of lovely grip, seem decent in the wet as well! Can't comment on wear rate.. cabin noise is low..

As above - there are plenty of choices out there in the correct size!

Your right it is down to the individual. Argh firm believer that its tyres that keep u safe and u get what pay for.ill look at those tyres cheers

The closest you'll get in the CC is a 195/55r15. You'll be needing rims as well.  Is it worth the faffing?

I think if your online seller is recommending 185/65r15 I would be shopping elsewhere as they haven't a clue.

It's 185/55/15. The 195/50/15 are awsome, you get endless grip and are pretty comfy on not that good roads as well. I'd recommend you Uniroyal Rainsport 3. IMHO, those are the best tires you can buy, for the correct price.

Really don't know why your talking about 15 inch tyres on a VRS?

Just search the correct size of 205/45 16 on your chosen tyre suppliers site and take your pick.

mytyres/camskill/jjc race and rally are good competetive websites.

Your right not worth the faff but was just seeing if was possible, and that recommendation was from a well known online tyre shop in uk.

Yeah but the standard alloys are 16 inch,so no sense in buying 15 inch alloys to fit 15 inch tyres on the car is there! !!!

Will look crap for a start, and look like a VRS lookalike ;)

I know a few people with vRS fabia & polo gti that have reverted to 15" rims.  Lighter weight & better choice of tyres (they say).

Perhaps on a competition/track car it might be worth it,but on a road going lardy arsed VRS I can't see it.

Plenty of choice in 205/45 16's :)
