Hi,

Just got a quote for the above, £800. Which i dont consider bad, as the tyres are £120 each.

The strange thing was they quoted for 4 x 17" rs6 replica alloys fitted with 225/45r17 goodyear GSD3.

The conserning bit 225. Is this likely to be an issue (rubbing etc.) and shouldnt they be 40r17

For an Octavia, there's little difference between 205/50 R17s and 225/45 R17s - The 225 / 205 bit does not mean one tyre is 20mm wider - Its merely an expression of the sidewall size in % terms.

For a Fabia though 225/45s are a no-no, and 205/40 (or even 215/40) are the best ones to go for.

Go for 215/40, i've got 205's and there a little stretched

I thought it was the opposite - 225 IS the width and then the sidewall is the percentage, ie 225/ 50 = 225mm width 112.5mm sidewall height (50% of 225)

GSD3's can be got MUCH cheaper than
